Hi! I hope you can help. I was trying to get on to the Chat room tonight,
but I couldn't seem to get it to work. I've never done it before, but when I
put my name in it kept asking for a password. I followed the directions and
tried to use a different name, but it still wouldn't work. Could you give me
more specific instructions or try to figure out what I'm doing wrong? Also,
is there a way to see if anyone else is in the Chat room or do you just wait
and see. Sorry, I'm a rookie at all this. :)
Any info you could give me would be appreciated. Thanks!
Karin W.
SOLUTION
I wanted to respond to this for all members because I know some people are
having trouble with it. If your computer is Java enabled you should be able
to use the chat...however when it asks for a password simply hit okay without
anything and it should work. there is really no way to check and see if any
other members are in. There is sceduled times when people normally meet. If
you would like to try and add a time to talk with other members or if you have
any questions email Meg6212@aol.com and see if
she can solve your problem.

Who runs this club anyway?
Well, we have had several people ask about who we, Meg and I are. Here's the
answer. I asked Meg to write a little paragraph about herself. Here it is:
A little about me... My name is Megan Miller. I'm from Medford, New Jersey
and I'm 16 years old. I'm currently a junior in high school. Ok, now that
we've got all of the basic info out of the way :) My interests are computers,
web design, graphics, tv, movies, music, and collecting. I've been watching
Caroline in the City since the beginning. It's my favorite show. I don't
remember exactly how many years ago it was that I became a huge fan of Malcolm
Gets, but I'm so glad that I was able to come across his work. He is
definetly my favorite actor. Well, I guess that's about it for me, if there
is anything else you'd like to know or if you'd ever like to talk, please feel
free to email me at Meg6212@aol.com. Thanks and talk
to you all soon.
-Meg
Okay now about me!
My full name is Miranda Ann Thomas....but I go by just Miranda. I am 22 years
old and live in Lexington, KY right now and go to the University of Kentucky
(go Wildcats!! sorry March Madness and all!!) I am orginally from Elsmere,
KY, a little city about ten minutes south of Cincinnati OH. Lets see. I
will graduate with a Bachelors of Interior Design in May and plan to someday
go to Depaul's theatre school for a Masters in Set Design (so I may meet
Malcolm one day on Broadway!!) I am a big fan of all Fine Arts...including
Theatre, Movies, Television, Music and Books. Which is why I am invovled in
this group. I too have watched Caroline from the beginning, but I think I
much perfer Malcolm's theatre work...especially Merrily We Roll Along (if you
haven't heard the CD....GO GET IT!!!) I wish I could say that CitC is my
favorite show and that Malcolm is my favorite actor...but favorites are so
hard to choose....so i must remain unbiased. Lets just say that I approached
Meg with the idea of the club, and it was a joint effort because i think that
Malcolm deserves a lot more credit than he gets. I am very impressed with the
show...it makes my Mondays. AND I could listen to Malcolm talk or sing for hours...he has
a very nice voice.
I thank all of you for your interest in Meg and myself and hope we have
answered any questions you have. If you would like to tell the group about
yourself...email me and I will start a spotlight member of each issue!!
Please feel free to comment or question anything that we write...we are only
human are as you know humans have a tendancy to makke mistakes!!

From: CHOWDER613
Hi!
Would it be possible if you could send me some sound clips or webpages with
sound clips of Malcolm. I would really appreciate it. Thank you!!!!!!
CIARA, a very happy MGC fan right now!
P.S. I have a Macintosh, just to let you know. I can convert most files of
sound, though.
I do not personally have any sound clips of Malcolm, but if anyone can help
out with this we can pass your site or the clips on to anyone that wants them.
I do know that Meg has some on the first Malcolm site. Go to the links page
of the club site and its on there...good luck and if anyone sends me any clips
I will send them on to you.

Hi Miranda
Just wanted to say thanks for the newsletter and all the other e-mails
i've been sent they are a nice surprise.
As for the T-shirt I would be intrested in purchasing one although the
fact I don't have a credit card might make this difficult. Also what
would the T-shirt look like?
Concerning the New Brain CD, I purchased one from Andy's Records U.K,
price =A314.99.
P.S Please also give Meg a BIG thank you from me.
Yours in Friendship,
Spikeyhair :D
The t-shirt design would have to be discussed however and Meg will be getting
back to everyone concerning that. If you would or would not like to have a
club t-shirt email one of us and let us know. Also if you have an idea for
the t-shirt feel free to send those as well.

Subj: Question for the Newsletter
Date: 2/27/99
From: leahc_m@yahoo.com (Laura Maltz)
Miranda and Meg,
I am an ardent fan of Malcolm, but one thing has concerned
me since I learned about it a while ago. I heard him say on a talk
show from a few years ago that he smokes. I don't know if you would
know this yourself, but could you tell me if he still smokes or has he
quit? Thanks a lot and keep up the great work:o)
Laura
Well actually Laura I don't know if he still smokes or not. If anyone knows
the answer to this let us know. If one person wants to know...chances are
there are more people out there asking the same thing!!

Malcolm gets his Chance (an editorial)
Malcolm Gets His Chance.... Finally!!!
By Megan Miller ( Meg6212@aol.com )
Ever since the moment I found out what a wonderful singer and dancer
Malcolm Gets was, I had always hoped to be able to see more of this show
through on Caroline in the City. Well, Monday night that finally happened.
I understand why NBC and the CITC writers weren't really able to let
Malcolm show much more than his acting talent on the show before. It just
doesn't fit Richard's profile. But still, I had hoped that somehow they would
find a way to work in Richard, the non singing, non dancing guy, as a great
singer and dancer so that some of the Caroline in the City community who
wasn't aware or able to see Malcolm show his true self before would have that
chance. They worked it in very well I think. The whole cast did a great job =
with the dance scene; it wasn't just Malcolm. But you could tell that they were
all doing a pretty good job with all of the moves and everything else that
they had to do. I had heard about the preview, but I hadn't actually caught it before I
saw the show. When I saw the episode Monday night, I was really pleased with
it. Not just with one character, but with the entire cast. There was
something about that last episode of CITC that really reminded me of the way
the show used to be. It was great. I found that I was laughing more then
usual, and the dance fantasy was just icing on the cake.
I really hope that CITC will follow with this course and continue to be
as well written and funny as it was the other night. Well, that's about all I
have to say. I just decided that I was long over due to put my two cents in.
Until next time.
-Meg

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I was the one who gave Meg the
information about the episode I saw taped on 2/19, and there was a bit
of information I forgot to mention. There was some good news for
Richard before the end when he and Caroline were wondering about the
future of their relationship. He had his art in a show at a gallery
and SOLD 4 PAINTINGS. So, technically, it was one of the best nights
of his life before he got back to Caroline's and they had a serious
talk. I sure hope that the writer's don't keep them at odds too long.
Also, I just wanted to say that I love the web site. I only recently
became a member (when I returned from the taping & a convention in
L.A.), and I find myself looking at the site every day. I was just
wondering where you and Meg are from and how old you are. It's quite
a site! Keep up the good work.
Karin W.
